West District RCMP are investigating a series of break, enter and thefts over the past several weeks in Clair, N.B.

Since the beginning of July, police have responded to seven break and enters, six involving theft of money, and one in which a building was damaged, but nothing was stolen.

Three break-ins happened at the Village of Clair's municipal office at 809 Rue Principale. Each time money was stolen, police say. The most recent incident was reported on Tuesday, August 21. The RCMP's Forensic Identification Section is assisting in the investigation.

Since July, break-ins have also been reported at two homes on Rue Principale, a sports complex on Boulevard Long and at a church on Avenue des Érables where two doors were damaged.

The break and enters are believed to have happened overnight.
