Police have disrupted a large-scale drug trafficking network in New Brunswick. So far, eight people have been charged, including a man and woman from Edmundston. 25-year-old Denis Deschênes and 24-year-old Julie Desjardins are among those facing drug trafficking and conspiracy charges.

Investigators believe  drug traffickers were using Edmundston as the gateway and relay point for the distribution of methamphetamine and other drugs into the Greater Moncton area.  Police seized 26,000 methamphetamine pills, marihuana, cocaine, and other drugs, along with $16,000 in cash, a weapon and two vehicles.

Edmundston Police & RCMP in Moncton have been collaborating in the investigation.
