Puff Daddy kicked off his Bad Boy Reunion tour in Chicago on Thursday (Sept. 1) telling the crowd to make more noise than ever before for a special guest that wound up being hometown hero Chance The Rapper. In the above clip, Chance storms out, performing "No Problem" off his May release Coloring Book.

There is a bit of irony in the song selection, with Chance denouncing major labels as Puff celebrates his own, but the pairing as well represents how the gap between independent artists and label executives has closed in recent years. Just this past Sunday, while Kanye West was introducing his video for "Fade" at the MTV Video Music Awards, he included both Puff and Chance as people in the audience whom he admires, saying, "I’m standing in front of my idol, Puff Daddy. I’m standing in front of my wife, Kim Kardashian West. I’m standing in front of the future: Chance the Rapper, 2 Chainz, Jaden Smith."

The Bad Boy Reunion tour was supposed to start a week earlier, but Puff delayed the proceedings to fully recover from shoulder surgery. The Reunion bill is set to include Lil’ Kim, Mase, Faith Evans, French Montana, the Lox, 112, Mario Winans, Total and Carl Thomas as well as some special guests, if the Chicago start is any indication. Puff and co. head to Baltimore next for a Saturday show before hitting Madison Square Garden come Sunday.
