Not only was Prince busy working on new music before his untimely death, but he was also developing a reality series.

In an expansive GQ feature dedicated to the Purple One, close friends and musicians recount some amazing stories about the late music icon.

Photographer Maya Washington revealed to the publication that he was in talks to create a reality show around the inner workings of Paisley Park with Netflix. Prince reached out to Washington for her assistance and asked her to be in the show.

When Washington asked Prince how come he won't star in his own reality series, he gave the best answer in the entire universe.

“Why don’t you want anyone to see your sense of humor,” recalls Washington. Answered Prince: "Maya, I can't be funny. I have to save the world."

A rep for Netflix confirmed to the Associated Press that Prince and the entertainment network was in talks for a reality show. The "discussions" was ongoing but the project didn't "come to fruition" before his death in April.

A Paisley Park reality show would have been must-see TV, but it probably wouldn't be a ratings hit if Prince wasn't going to appear on the show. Plus, we don't think the guitarist would allow the series to get too ratchet like Love & Hip Hop. Nevertheless, it would have been cool to see how Paisley Park operates on a daily basis.

Hopefully, the upcoming Prince documentary will fill in the void.
