“Research shows that prevention is the most effective tool we have to reduce the terrible consequences associated with drug use among young people. This new funding will allow the Power of Prevention to help place more young people on the path toward success and enable them to live healthier lives”, said Kathy Mazzuchelli, President of the Power of Prevention Coalition board of directors.

The Power of Prevention will specifically work to address substance use by young people throughout Aroostook County. Increasing awareness of the problems associated with illicit use, working with schools, addressing issues such as bullying, will all be part of the effort.
