The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says 49-year-old Ronald Gullikson of Portland was charged with 2 counts of Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Crack Cocaine. Gullikson was arrested at his second floor apartment at 144 Ocean Avenue, according to a press release from the Maine Public Safety Department.

Over the past week, agents with the Cumberland District Task Force and Portland Police conducted an investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine from 144 Ocean Avenue. Of particular concern was the fact that the property is bordered on two sides by the Ocean Avenue Elementary School.

Agents were able to infiltrate the group and executed a search warrant at the apartment at around 9 o'clock Wednesday night.

Gullikson was arrested without incident and transported to the Cumberland County Jail. Three others were detained and later released.

Agents said they seized evidence of drug trafficking, including a number of digital scales, cutting agents and packaging materials.

Police say the arrest of Gullikson and the disruption of this crack cocaine distribution group is the direct result of information provided by members of the Ocean Avenue community.  The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected.
