Rick Porcello was solid on the hill. Rookie Andrew Benintendi ripped a 3-run home run. All in all, a good season opener for the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park.

A 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Porcello got the win, pitching 6.1 innings before exiting the game. Reliever Matt Barnes allowed three runners to score and all were charged to Porcello.

The Sox scored all five runs in one inning.

Craig Kimbrel closed out the game in the 9th and got the save.
