According to the Public Safety Department, a State Trooper pulled over 33-year-old Don Hanson's car at mile 63 in the northbound lane late Monday night. While the trooper was interviewing one of the passengers outside the car, the vehicle took off.

Police later pulled over the Ford Focus near Hotel Road in Auburn being driven by one of Hanson’s passengers.  Troopers were told that Hanson had fled into woods along Route 122.

Trooper Jason Wing later recovered what is believed to be bath salts that were thrown out of the car as it was being pursued.

Hanson, who is from Westfield, is wanted for eluding a police officer and failing to stop.  He is described as 6 feet tall and 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.  State Police suspect he may still be in the Lewiston-Auburn area and will likely be making his way back to Aroostook County.

Anyone with information on Hanson’s whereabouts is asked to call the Public Safety dispatch center in Gray at 657-3030, or 911 on a cell phone.
