Fire Destroys Couple’s Home in Western New Brunswick

A couple displaced after a fire destroyed their home in a rural area just west of Millville, New Brunswick is getting some emergency help from the Canadian Red Cross.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at 590 Nortondale Road in Southampton on Monday. Neighbors have provided a trailer as temporary lodging for the man and woman in their 50s.

Red Cross spokesman Dan Bedell said volunteers are assisting with emergency purchases  such as clothing, food, blankets, and other basics.

There were no injuries from the fire. We'll have more details as they become available.
