Icy road conditions contributed to a crash into a Perham residence Saturday morning.

About 8:00 a.m. Saturday, the Aroostook County Sheriff's Office received a report of a car crash at the intersection of the Carson and Nutting Roads in Perham.

Deputy Sheriff Reid Clark responded and found that a 16-year-old Perham girl was headed southbound on the Nutting Road in a 2014 KIA Sorento SUV when she attempted to stop at the intersection. Because of the icy road, she slid across the Carson Road striking the side of a residence.

The teen was alone in the SUV and was transported to Northern Light AR Gould Hospital in Presque Isle by Caribou Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Police say she was wearing a seat belt. The homeowner, who was inside at the time of the crash, did not suffer any injuries.

The Sorento SUV could not be driven and had to be towed from the scene.
