Over 5,000 People Want Drake to Donate Proceeds From “Two Birds, One Stone” to Mental Health Charity
Drake is still under fire for his raps about Kid Cudi. Well over 5,000 people have signed a new petition demanding that Drake donate the profits of his "Two Birds, One Stone" diss track to a mental health charity.
"Mental health is not a joking manner," the petition creator wrote. "According to Mental Health America, the most common disorder amongst suicide victims is depression. Depression or bi-polar disorder affects about 30-70 percent of suicide victims."
Drake's rhymes on the diss record were perceived by many to be insensitive. While Kid Cudi started the issue with Drake, the "Day 'N' Nite" rapper's outburst gained important context when he announced he was battling depression and suicidal urges.
Kid Cudi's decision to check into rehab did not stop Drake from firing back though. The "One Dance" rapper flippantly referred to Kid Cudi's mental health issues on "Two Birds, One Stone."
"You were the man on the moon/Now you just go through your phases/Life of the angry and famous/Rap like I know I’m the greatest/Then give you the tropical flavors/Still never been on hiatus/You stay xanned and perked up/So when reality set in you don’t gotta face it," Drake rapped.
A few days after the song was released, Kid Cudi responded to Drake's words via Twitter.
"Say it to [my] face, pussy,” Cudi wrote. “You think it’s a game. I wanna see you say it to my face. I’ll be out soon. Promise."
The issue between Drake and Kid Cudi is far from over. But Drake could probably engender a little goodwill if he donated some money to a mental health charity.
