The New York Yankees took some time to honor David Ortiz before the game and then went out and beat the triple-A Boston Red Sox 5-1 last night. Turns out the Yanks get a sweep of the three game series.

With the AL East title in their back pocket, the Sox rested many regulars, including Dustin Pedroia, Mookie Betts, Hanley Ramirez. Henry Owens made the start on the hill.

David Ortiz batted twice - a strikeout and a walk. He then left the game to applause.

The Sox return to Fenway tonight for the final series of the regular season against Toronto.

The Red Sox will play their first playoff game next Thursday.
