David Ortiz hit his longest home run of the season (451 feet), Brock Holt added a solo shot and the Red Sox pitching was good from start to finish. It all spells a 4-0 win over the San Francisco Giants.

For Big Papi it was his 23rd homer of the year and #526 in his career.

Meanwhile, Rick Porcello was solid for 6.1 innings and picked up his 12th win.

The only downer of the night was an injury to pitcher Koji Uehara. He left the game in the 9th inning with a pectoral injury. It is uncertain how serious it is.

The Sox win, combined with another Baltimore loss means there is a tie in the loss column for first place in the AL East. The Sox are 52-39 while the O's are 53-39.
