State Police are looking for 32-year-old Matthew Davis of Houlton, who is considered armed and dangerous. Davis is described as  5’9”, 165 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone seeing him should call Maine State Police in Houlton at 532-5400, or 911 immediately.

Firefighters discovered the bodies of a man and woman inside a house in Oakfield at 331 Oakfield-Smyrna Road just before dawn Monday.  Witnesses say the gunman stole a pickup truck that was reportedly set on fire a short time later. Route 2 was closed down around 5 a.m. while police and emergency personnel responded.

Police say a fire nearby at Katahdin Forest Products may also be connected to the Oakfield fire.

The Southern Aroostook Community School was closed while a search was underway for the suspect.  Other schools in the area, including Houlton schools, were under lock-down as a precaution.

State Police have not yet released any official information on the identities of the victims, but they are said to be in their late forties or early fifties.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate.
