Who says that Red Sox vs Yankees excitement is gone? The Yanks beat the Sox Friday night 3-2 in a tight, tense game that saw both David Ortiz and John Farrell ejected in the ninth inning.

Rick Porcello was the tough luck loser, pitching seven strong innings but gave up a solo home run to light hitting Aaron Hicks in the seventh that turned out to be the winning hit.

Fast forward to the ninth inning. The Sox have the bases loaded, one out and a 3-1 count to Big Papi.

A questionable strike call infuriated Ortiz. Farrell came out to argue and got tossed.

Next pitch - another questionable strike three call and Ortiz went crazy and got tossed.

Hanley Ramirez then struck out. Game over. Yanks win.

Earlier in the game, Ortiz hit a 2-run homer, tying Carl Yastrzemski for second place in Sox history.
