A two-vehicle collision on Highway 11 near Oak Point, New Brunswick has claimed the life of a 50-year-old man from Neguac. 

Neguac RCMP responded to a head-on collision, at approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning involving a transport truck and pickup truck. Police say the driver of the pickup truck, the only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene as the result of his injuries.

The driver of the transport truck was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be serious. Names have not been released. The driver of the pickup is a 50-year-old man from Neguac. The transport driver is a 43-year-old man from St. Isadore.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting in the investigation. Traffic in the area can expect possible delays and a detour along Highway 8. Local residents will be permitted to use the road to access their residences through the rest of the day.
