New Moving Artwork in Aroostook County

The art world and the healthcare field came together in Presque Isle and developed something pretty spectacular to help with community outreach efforts.

Wintergreen Arts Center and TAMC together, developed the Wintergreen On Wheels (WOW) and TAMC “In Your Town” Mobile that will be used as an on-location art studio. This will bring wellness activity to the surrounding areas.

The WOW/TAMC Mobile is actually a decommissioned Crown Ambulance that has been transformed to house art supplies so volunteers with Wintergreen Arts Center can take it to a community for special events and offer art activities on-site. It will also be used by TAMC to bring health-related activities to towns in the region.

The first art project from the WOW/TAMC Mobile will not be created from supplies that will be stored in the vehicle, but rather using the mobile itself as a three dimensional canvas. Wintergreen artists will transform the vehicle into a moving mural. Heather Harvell of Presque Isle will design the new look.

A roll-out of Aroostook County’s newest piece of moving art is expected to happen in late May or early June.
