As we start to gear up for fall, gas prices around northern New England are remaining fairly steady.

According to the daily survey by GasBuddy.com of gas stations in the region, Maine saw a price rise of 1.3 cents a gallon over the last week to an average price per gallon of $2.84. As of Monday afternoon, prices at most stations in Presque Isle checked in at $2.91 a gallon.

Pump prices in New Hampshire increased a little over half a penny to $2.77 a gallon while in neighboring Vermont, gas prices dropped just under a half penny to an average $2.87 per gallon.

The price of gas nationally rose 1.6 cents a gallon in the past week to an average $2.84.

GasBuddy spokesperson Patrick DeHaan says once the changeover to the winter blend of gasoline occurs, we should see some price relief.
