Bathurst RCMP responded to the call at approximately 10 p.m. at Dépanneur 315, on Route 315 in Petit-Rocher-Ouest.

An unarmed man reportedly entered the store at closing time and demanded money from the lone female employee, according to RCMP Cpl. André Duval. The suspect then forced the woman into her personal vehicle and drove her to Highway 11, near Nigadoo, where she was let out of the vehicle uninjured.

The man left in the woman's car and headed south on Highway 11, Duval said. An undisclosed amount of money was stolen from the store.

The suspect is described as approximately 5’5’’, with average build. He was wearing beige pants, a beige jacket, a black scarf covering his face, a black hat with a red banner around the top, possibly with “Canada” written on it, black boots, glasses and rubber gloves. The man spoke English with a French accent.

The stolen vehicle, which has not yet been located, is a white 2010 four-door Mazda 3 with New Brunswick licence plate GXG 438.

The investigation is continuing.
