New Brunswick Crime Stoppers and the New Brunswick Department of Public Safety are seeking public input to stop illegal hunting practices in the province.

The hunting and trapping of animals out of season is a recognized illegal activity. Another very serious offence is the hunting of deer, moose, and other animals at night.

In New Brunswick, night hunting is a major offence under the Fish and Wildlife Act. Wildlife officials say it takes unfair advantage of  the animals by using a light, and is an inherently unsafe act. The Department of Public Safety and the New Brunswick Wildlife Federation say the majority of New Brunswickers deplore such activity.

If you have any information on illegal hunting or trapping, you can anonymously contact NB Crime Stoppers online, call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or tex TIP212 + your message to 'CRIMES' (274637). NB Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.
