Five additional charges have been laid against an Eel River Crossing man following an appearance in Campbellton Provincial Court on July 16.

Kevin Lavallée, 39, was charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, uttering death threats, assault, uttering threats to damage property, possessing a crossbow and ammunition while prohibited and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.On July 9, 2018, the RCMP's Northeast Crime Reduction Unit arrested a man from Eel River Crossing, N.B. as a result of a complaint.

The following day on July 10 as a result of the investigation into uttering threats, the police executed a search warrant at a residence on Welsh Road in Eel River Crossing. A quantity of what is believed to be cocaine, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia were seized.

Following an appearance in Campbellton Provincial Court on July 10, Lavallée was charged with uttering threats, criminal harassment and assault. Lavallée remains in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for July 18, at 1:30 p.m. for a bail hearing.
