Miranda Kerr claims she fell into a deep depression following her divorce from Orlando Bloom, who she was married to for three years.

The Victoria’s Secret model opened up about that dark time in her life in a new interview with Elle Canada for the publication’s December 2016 issue.

“When Orlando and I separated [in 2013], I actually fell into a real bad depression,” she said. “I never understood the depth of that feeling or the reality of that because I was naturally a very happy person.”

Kerr says she managed to work through that difficult period by refocusing her frame of mind, saying, “every thought you have affects your reality and only you have control of your mind.”

And now that things are a bit more harmonious, the model -- who is currently engaged to Snapchat founder, Evan Spiegel -- says she and Bloom have worked out an efficient system when it comes to co-parenting their five-year-old son, Flynn.

"The most important thing is that when he has his time with me, we have quality time together, and when he's with his dad, he has quality time with him," Kerr said. "And it works out really well because I book in my photo shoots for the time he's with his dad, and the rest of the time I just get to be a mom."
