A 19-year-old man has been arrested for the early morning theft at the Omega Restaurant in Minto on September 14th.

The suspect broke into the Omega Restaurant around 1:45 a.m., September 14th, and attempted to steal money & liquor, said police. When the store owner confronted him, he fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police arrested the 19-year-old man on September 26. He was later released on a promise to appear, and is scheduled for Burton Provincial Court on January 9, 2017, to face related charges.

There were two other break & enters in the same area in September - Foodland grocery store in Minto on September 11, and Valufoods in Chipman, September 14. They remain under investigation.
