Millan Named Rookie Of The Week

University of Maine freshman Blanca Millan was named the Rookie of the Week in the America East conference on Monday.

Millan averaged 13 points and seven rebounds in the past two games over the last week, including hitting five three pointers for the Black Bears.  UMaine went 1-1 to start conference play, including a win over UMBC this past Saturday.  Millan's 17 points versus the Retrievers match a career high.

The award was the fourth one for the Black Bears after teammate Laia Sole has earned three of her own throughout the 2016-17 season.

The Black Bears get back into action on Wednesday evening as they face the UMass Lowell Riverhawks on the road at 7 p.m.
