Mathieu’s 4 Hits Leads Messalonskee Past Bangor

The Messalonskee Eagles are showing they are the real deal after racking up 14 hits in an 8-6 win over Bangor and improve their record to 6-0 on the season.Zach Mathieu led the Eagles attack at the plate going 4-4 with 2 triples, 2 rbi and 2 runs scored. Jared Cunningham added 2 hits and 2 rbi as Messalonskee jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Nick Mayo who is back with the team after taking last year off got the win on the mound going 5 innings allowing just 3 hits and 3 unearned runs while striking out 4.

Bangor mounted a comeback with 3 runs in the 5th and 3 more in the 6th inning but left the tying run on first base when the game ended. The Rams who drop to 5-2 left 10 men on base for the game.
