Police and emergency personnel were called to the crash on the Garfield Road in Masardis at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Maine State Police say 39-year-old Devin Stoltz was traveling south on a Honda motorcycle owned by Taylor Condon of Ashland when he lost control around a corner. The motorcycle left the roadway and traveled into the ditch, according to Sgt. Josh Haines.

The motorcycle struck an embankment and went airborne into some trees before ending up in the roadway.

Stoltz was not wearing a helmet and was transported by the Ashland Ambulance Service to The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle, Sgt. Haines said. He was later flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor due to the severity of his injuries.

Trooper Tim Saucier investigated the crash. Ashland Fire & Ambulance assisted at the scene.
