Marilyn Manson Hospitalized After Two Giant Stage Props Fall On Him

Marilyn Manson was rushed to a hospital in New York City last night (Sept. 30) after a large stage prop fell on him while he was playing a show.

The accident took place at the Hammersmith Ballroom in Manhattan, about 45 minutes into his performance. The video above shows him kneeling down in front of two giant pistols attached to a frame, which topples forward over him while he’s singing “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).” Crewmen then rush onto the stage and manhandle the frame back into position, while others lean over Manson, who remains on the floor.

“It was so fast, at first I thought it was part of the show,” fan Ciro Castro tole the New York Daily News. “But then I saw the guitarist’s face, and the faces of some of the others, and they looked really scared. I was like, ‘Oh, this is not a joke.’ He moved for a minute at first but then he was still. They turned off the lights but we couldn't see they were trying to cover him with a blanket.”

Manson lay there for at least 10 minutes before emergency services lifted him onto a stretcher. A spokesman later reported: “Manson suffered an injury towards the end of an incredible NYC show. He is being treated at a local hospital.” While no details were revealed, another spokesperson said the singer would be “okay.”

Manson apparently also injured himself during a show the previous night (Friday, Sept. 29) in Pittsburgh, PA. He jumped off the stage while performing “Beautiful People” and on returning to the platform told the audience: “I just broke my ankle but it’s okay.” He releases his latest album Heaven Upside Down on Oct. 6.
