Vernon Paul, Jr. of Tobique passed away of unknown causes. Officials say his body was discovered around 11 p.m. between the school and the health center.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday, according to the RCMP.

Paul's death comes about a week after the body of 29-year old Jamie Wolfe was discovered near a snowmobile trail along Main Street at Tobique First Nation.

Police believe Wolfe had been celebrating the New Year with friends and had gone for a walk after being dropped off at her home. She was not dressed for the cold weather and succumbed to hypothermia.  Foul play was not suspected.
