A Massachusetts man who was seriously injured in a snowmobile crash in Frenchville Monday night managed to make it to a residence to get help.

The Maine Warden Service said 52-year-old Todd Malesky of Millbury, Mass. became separated from his party after crashing his snowmobile some time after dark.

Wardens say that in spite of his injuries, Malesky was able to drive his damaged Yamaha snowmobile to a residence on the Frenchville Road around 9:30 p.m., where a 9-1-1 call was made.

The injured man was transported by ambulance to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, Malesky was transferred via LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. There was no word on his condition Tuesday afternoon.

Game wardens on Tuesday said they had located the scene of the accident and planned to interview members of Malesky’s snowmobiling party.
