A fire in Havelock, New Brunswick Wednesday night claimed the life of a 30-year-old man.

The RCMP responded to a house fire on the Steeves Settlement Road shortly before 9:00 p.m.. The man's body was found inside the residence, according to Cpl. Dan Poirier of the Riverview detachment.

 

The RCMP identified the victim on Friday as 30-year-old Peter Nicholas Scribner of Steeves Settlement.   Scribner was employed by Wildwood Masonry. He leaves behind two children.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 7 at 3 p.m. at Salisbury Funeral Home.

The New Brunswick Fire Marshal's Office and the Southeast RCMP are investigating the cause of the fire. The New Brunswick Coroner Service is also working to verify the cause of death. An autopsy was being conducted.
