Aroostook County's Russell Currier will be competing in next month's Winter Olympics in South Korea. The U.S. Biathlon Olympic Team announced Saturday night that Currier and Leif Nordgren from Minnesota will be the final two members of the five-man USA team.

The 30-year-old Currier is from Stockholm, a small town outside of Caribou. He competed in the Winter Olympics four years ago in Sochi, finishing 49th in the 20-kilometer individual race.

The USA has never won an olympic medal is the biathlon.

NOTE: Another Mainer, Clare Egan from Cape Elizabeth, has earned a spot on the U.S. Women's Biathlon Team.
