The leading wide receiver for the University of Maine football team was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the Orono Police Department.

Wright was arrested at around 4 p.m. for disorderly conduct while attending a get-together at The Reserve apartment complex, formerly known as The Grove.  The complex had announced a pool party on the grounds for Maine Day  that quickly got out of hand according to reports.

The University of Maine released a statement about the arrest of the Wright.

“The University of Maine has been informed of the arrest of student-athlete Micah Wright. With the arrest, three processes are set in motion — the criminal justice system, the University of Maine student code of conduct and the UMaine Athletics student-athlete code of conduct,” the release from Margaret Nagle, the Senior Director of Public Relations and Operations at UMaine stated.  “As of May 5, Wright has been interimly suspended from the University of Maine football team based on alleged violations of the student-athlete code of conduct. UMaine's Student Conduct Office in the Division of Student Life is conducting an investigation.”

Wright led all UMaine receivers in 2015 with 61 receptions for 818 yards.  He also scored five touchdowns during that season.  Wright, who is originally from Newark, NY, is entering his sophomore season with the Black Bears.
