Incident Type: Violation of harassment order Date: 10/01/2017 Town: Sherman Trooper: Tr. Lilley Brief Synopsis: Tr. Lilley issued a criminal summons to a Sherman man after he violated a protection from harassment order. The man’s brother has the order against him. The man went into the gas station and Sherman and the protected person was inside. The protected person went to the door and told the man he could not come into the store because he (the protected person) was there; the man went into the store anyway.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 10/03/2017 Town: Eagle Lake Trooper: Tr. Desrosier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier arrested a 21-year-old male that had a warrant for failing to appear in court. Tr. Desrosier went to the male’s father’s house and located him. The male said he thought he had a different court date for a criminal speeding charge. The man was arrested without incident and was able to be released on bail that same night.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 10/03/2017 Town: Littleton Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins stopped a vehicle in Littleton for failing to keep right. During the stop Tr. Kilcollins discovered the female driver has a suspended Maine driver’s license. The woman told Tr. Kilcollins that she knew she did not have a license. The passenger of the vehicle did possess a valid license. The woman was issued a criminal summons for Operating After Suspension.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 10/04/2017 Town: Littleton Trooper: Cpl. Quint Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint was conducting traffic enforcement in Littleton on US Highway 1 and stopped a 16 year old male for driving 85 mph in a posted 50 mph zone. When Cpl. Quint asked the juvenile why he was driving so fast he said he did not know and just was. The juvenile was issued a criminal summons for criminal speed and his mother was contacted.

Incident Type: Criminal Traffic Violations Date: 10/04/2017 Town: Frenchville Trooper: Tr. Desrosier Brief Synopsis: Tr. Desrosier stopped a vehicle in Frenchville for several vehicle equipment infractions. During the stop he discovered the driver was operating the vehicle with an expired transit registration plate and had an expired driver’s license. Tr. Desrosier issued the 35-year-old female driver a criminal summons for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and a criminal summons for operating with an expired driver’s license (it was expired by more than a year).

Incident Type: OAS Date: 10/07/2017 Town: Easton Trooper: Sgt. Clark Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark stopped a vehicle on Station Street in Easton for a traffic violation. During the stop Sgt. Clark discovered the 35-year-old male driver had a suspended driver’s license. Sgt. Clark issued the man a criminal summons for the violation and arranged to have the vehicle removed from the roadway.

Incident Type: Violation of Bail Date: 10/08/2017 Town: Washburn Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins is seeking a warrant against a man for violation of conditions of release. The man is prohibited from having contact with his girlfriend due to a domestic violence incident. Tr. Kilcollins was driving in Washburn and observed the two people together. When he turned to investigate the male ran. Tr. Levesque responded with K-9 “Vitz” but was able to track the male back to the female’s apartment. The woman allowed Troopers to search her apartment but he was not located. It is believed that the man was taken from the scene in a vehicle. Tr. Kilcollins located the male in Washburn early Monday morning after following some leads. The man was arrested without incident for violation of bail and transported to the Aroostook County Jail.

Incident Type: VIOLATION OF BAIL / Revoked driver Date: 10/08/2017 Town: Patten Trooper: Tr. Lilley Brief Synopsis: Tr. Lilley was conducting traffic enforcement on State Route 11, Patten. Tr. Lilley observed a vehicle speeding and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop it was discovered the 64 year old male driver had a revoked driver’s license and was out on bail. Tr. Lilley issued a criminal summons for operating after revocation and violation of conditions of release.

Incident Type: OUI - drugs Date: 10/04/2017 Town: Houlton Trooper: Tr. Bell Brief Synopsis: Tr. Bell responded to the Houlton Port of Entry for a male that accidentally drove into Canada and was sent back to the U.S. When the male reached U.S. Customs, marijuana was discovered in his vehicle, and he admitted to smoking marijuana and driving. The male performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, was arrested for OUI, and had a 0.00 breath alcohol concentration. Tr. Bell performed a drug influence evaluation, and the male was found to be impaired by cannabis. The male was summonsed and bailed from the Troop F Barracks with the condition that he couldn’t drive until the following morning.

Incident Type: Violation of Bail Date: 10/06/2017 Town: Smyrna Trooper: Tr. Adams Brief Synopsis: Tr. Adams stopped a vehicle for a high rate on I-95. Upon investigation it was determined that the male had a suspended diving status and was also on bail. The RCC informed Tr. Adams that there was an active protection order in the system against the operator and it was determined that the female passenger in the vehicle was the protected party. The male was arrested and transported to the Aroostook County Jail and charged with OAS, VCR and Violation of a protection order.

Incident Type: Motor Vehicle Crash Date: 10/05/2017 Town: T14 R6 Trooper: Cpl. Hafford Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Hafford responded to a motor vehicle crash on Rt. 11 in T14 R6 at the south end of the Soucy Hill construction project. Investigation would show that the 22-year-old female driver from Lewiston was northbound and after a curve in the road, the pavement ended where the road work begins. At this point, the operator lost control of her vehicle, went into a critical speed scuff and left the roadway, vaulting approximately 20 feet then rolling an additional 50 feet before coming to final rest against some trees. A construction flagger witnessed the crash and called 9-11 to report it. The female operator sustained minor injuries and was transported to NMMC in Fort Kent. Her male passenger was not injured, nor was her one-year-old daughter. All 3 were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 10/02/2017 Town: Eagle Lake Trooper: Tr. Curtin Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin located an Eagle Lake man and arrested him on multiple warrants that were out for his arrest. The warrants were for failing to pay fines and failing to appear for several fine payment hearings. The violations were in relation to Operating After Suspension and Operating Under the Influence charges.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 10/06/2017 Town: Frenchville Trooper: Tr. Curtin Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin charged a Fort Kent man with Criminal speed after stopping him for traveling 62 MPH in a 25 MPH speed zone. The young man had 11 prior convictions and 3 prior suspensions on his driving record.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 10/07/2017 Town: St. John Trooper: Tr. Curtin Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin cited a St. Francis man for Criminal Speed after pulling him over for traveling 83 MPH in a 50 MPH zone. The subject had several violations on his record that occurred in the same area over the last few years.

Incident Type: WARRANT Date: 10/08/2017 Town: Wallagrass Trooper: Tr. Curtin Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin arrested a Wallagrass man on a warrant for Failure to Appear. The warrant stemmed from traffic charges out of Presque Isle Court. He was arrested without incident and transported to jail.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 10/04/2017 Town: Oakfield Trooper: Cpl. Michaud Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Michaud pulled over a Virginia man and woman for seat belt violations. The pair reported just moving to the area recently. Computer checks on the pair revealed that the male operator had a suspended license from Virginia for what appeared to be a charge of failing to appear in a Virginia court. He was arrested for the violation and transported to jail without incident. Both were cited for seatbelt violations.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 10/04/2017 Town: Presque Isle Trooper: Cpl. Michaud Brief Synopsis: While on patrol in his unmarked cruiser, Cpl. Michaud watched a vehicle pass several cars in an erratic fashion. The vehicle closed in on Cpl. Michaud’s cruiser at 90 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Once the vehicle caught up to the unmarked cruiser, the operator continued drive in an aggressive fashion and tailgated Cpl. Michaud’s cruiser. Once a safe location became available, Cpl. Michaud pulled the vehicle over. When asked what he was doing, the man stated he was trying to get home at the speed limit. He stated that people were driving (55 MPH) or slower and he was just trying to get home after work. After some discussion, the Caribou man was cited for his speed, following too closely, and failing to provide valid insurance.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
