Incident Type: VIOLATION OF BAIL Date: 11/09/2016 Town: Mapleton Trooper: Tr. Casavant Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant arrested a 33-year-old Mapleton man after he turned himself in for violating a protective order. The subject was prohibited from entering a family member’s home, but did so anyway. Once the subject committed the violation he went to Presque Isle Police Department and turned himself in. The subject was also charged with violating conditions of release.

Incident Type: ACCIDENT - FATAL Date: 11/11/2016 Town: Perham Trooper: Tr. Desrosier Brief Synopsis: Sgt. Clark, Cpl. Michaud, and Tr. Desrosier responded to a traffic crash resulting in the death of a 29-year-old male. The vehicle was traveling south on Rt. 228 at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a turn. The vehicle left the north bound side of the road striking a culvert causing the vehicle to become airborne and roll over multiple times. The operator and sole occupant in the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The operator died on scene as a result of his injuries. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. Tr. Desrosier is lead and is still conducting the investigation into this crash. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS

Incident Type: FIREARM BY A FELON Date: 11/12/2016 Town: Cary Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins was conducting a well-being check in Cary on two children as requested from their mother. During the course of his investigation Tr. Kilcollins became aware that the 32-year-old man living inside the residence (father of the children) was prohibited from possessing firearms due to a past domestic violence conviction. The man admitted to having firearms in the home and said he kept them to defend his family. Tr. Kilcollins confiscated the weapons and issued the man a criminal summons for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Incident Type: SPEED Date: 11/12/2016 Town: St. John Trooper: Cpl. Michaud Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Michaud issued a St. Francis man 3 traffic citations on Saturday. The first one was when Cpl. Michaud pulled the man over for doing 77 MPH in 50 MPH zone. The next 2 came minutes later when the man sped off after the initial stop and accelerated up to 78 MPH in the same speed zone. The driver also made a bad pass and forced the vehicle he was passing to slow and pull to the right while forcing an oncoming vehicle to do the same to avoid a crash. Cpl. Michaud stopped the man a second time and issued him another speeding ticket and a citation for an improper pass.

Incident Type: CRIMINAL SPEED Date: 11/13/2016 Town: Littleton Trooper: Tr. Kilcollins Brief Synopsis: Tr. Kilcollins was conducting traffic enforcement in Littleton and observed a vehicle traveling 90 mph in a posted 50 mph zone. Tr. Kilcollins stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver as well as three passengers. The passengers were intoxicated but the 25-year-old male driver was sober. Tr. Kilcollins issued the man a criminal summons for exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 30 mph.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
