It was a busy week for Maine State Police Troop 'F', based in Houlton, as they responded to 169 calls for service. Here's a look at activity posted in their weekly log:

June 20 – Trooper Saucier took a report of theft in Oxbow where a female had a check cashed fraudulently from her account and after reporting it to the bank they referred her to law enforcement. The case remains under investigation.

June 20 – Tr. Curtin investigated a theft of copper pipes and wheels off a vehicle from the Carson Rd in Woodland. The residence had been left abandoned and unsecured for some time and the owner suspected the most recent thefts to be within the last 30 days. The case remains under investigation.

June 20 – Tr. Saucier arrested a 36-year-old Patten man on an outstanding warrant and also charged him with DV criminal mischief after the man was stalking his ex-girlfriend and going to her residence kicking the door then fleeing prior to the Troopers arrival. Several calls came in throughout the night and Tr. Saucier parked down the road waiting for the man to return, but he did not. The man was located and arrested the following morning and transported to the Penobscot County Jail.

June 21 – Tr. Saucier was called to the River Rd in Oakfield for a burglary. The homeowner reported liquor from her liquor cabinet missing and this is the second time with the last around Thanksgiving last year. The house was unlocked and nothing else was taken. The case remains under investigation.

June 21 – Tr. Curtin summonsed two motorists for OAS stemming from traffic stops, one a 32-year-old Fort Kent man and the other a 44-year-old Frenchville man.

June 21 – Tr. Saucier was called to a camp burglary on the Barleyville Rd in Patten. Numerous items were stolen over the winter months mostly tools. The case remains under investigation.

June 21 – Tr. Saucier took a report of trespassing on the Station Rd in Patten for a man crossing onto the callers posted property. This has been an ongoing issue and charges may be coming once the man is located.

June 22 – Tr. Endre and Recruit Adams were advised that the Houlton RCC had received two complaints referencing the same vehicle on Route 11. One of the calls was for poor operation and the second caller stated that the same vehicle almost struck a construction worker. Tr. Endre and Recruit Adams stopped the vehicle on Route 11 in Moro. The 59-year-old operator admitted to drinking. After SFST’s Tr. Endre arrested the male operator for OUI.

June 22 – Tr. Sucy arrested two Patten men for violating their conditions of release after conducting a bail check on the men. Both men tested positive for methamphetamines during a urinalysis screening. Upon further investigation one of the men admitted to possessing meth which was inside a camper where he has been staying. When the man opened the camper door Tr. Sucy noticed items that he suspected to be part of a meth lab. Trp. Sucy also observed a one-pot meth making bottle on the ground outside the trailer. MDEA was contacted, conducted a search warrant, and determined there were several one-pot meth labs in the camper and the two men are facing additional charges from MDEA.

June 23 – Cpl. Quint and Recruit Desrosier were investigating a traffic complaint and located the vehicle in Easton. Recruit Desrosier suspected the driver, a 61-year-old man from Limestone, to be impaired. After conducting Field Sobriety Testing the driver was arrested for OUI.

June 23 – Tr. Bell and Recruit Kilcollins investigated a domestic incident in Monticello. A male and female were arguing and the male ended up breaking mutually owned property. However, the female later changed her story, wouldn’t cooperate, and there was no evidence of a crime. Assisting at the scene were Sgt. Fuller, Tr. Endre, and Recruit Adams.

June 23 – Tr. Endre and Recruit Adams responded to a wrong way driver on I-95 SB in Houlton. Cpl. Michaud found the vehicle near mile marker 299 southbound . Tr. Endre attempted to interview the female operator and from the interview it was apparent that the operator was not in a mental state to operate a motor vehicle. She told the Troopers that she was Bi-polar and couldn’t remember taking her medication. The vehicle was towed and the female operator was given a ride. An adverse driver’s report will be completed on the incident.

June 25 – Tr. Stoutamyer and Recruit Kilcollins stopped a vehicle in the town of Mars Hill for an expired inspection sticker and found that the 23-year-old operator from Easton had a suspended license. The man was subsequently summonsed for OAS, and he was transported from the traffic stop by a coworker.

June 25 – Tr. Stoutamyer and Recruit Kilcollins stopped a vehicle on Rt. 1 in the town of Presque Isle for an expired inspection sticker. The female was the protected party of an active protection order, and was protected from a 24-year-old male subject from Presque Isle. The vehicle had a male passenger who at first gave a fake name, but shortly thereafter provided his actual name which identified him as being the defendant in the PFAO. The man was subsequently arrested for violating the PFAO, and taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

June 25 – Tr. Endre and Recruit Adams responded to Masardis for a domestic violence assault. A male party called the RCC reporting that his ex-girlfriend had just assaulted him during a child exchange. At approximately the same time the female party called 911 saying that her ex-boyfriend just taken her son. After Tr. Endre interviewed both parties the female party was arrested for domestic violence assault and transported to the ACJ.

June 25 – Tr. Saucier was called out for a family fight in Island Falls for a couple that were arguing at a neighbor’s residence then left. The female was located and said the argument was verbal only and no crime was committed. The male did not return home and could not be located in the immediate area.

June 26 – Tr. Casavant and Tr. Curtin assisted Madawaska PD with a domestic where an intoxicated male left on foot with a handgun. The female was removed from the residence and the male was soon in touch with the Madawaska Officer via cell phone and agreed to give up and meet him at the residence. The man was taken into custody without incident, and claimed to have left the handgun somewhere.

Troop F of the Maine State Police is responsible for Aroostook County and the extreme northern sections of Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties.
