Troop F of the Maine State Police responded to 150 calls for service in and around Aroostook County this past week. Here are the incidents included in their weekly report:

Incident Type: CRIMINAL THREATENING Date: 8/12/2018 Town: Hodgdon Trooper: Cpl. Quint Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint responded to a complaint in Hodgdon where a man had threatened a couple with a knife. Cpl. Quint located the man parked in a driveway in another town. Cpl. Quint interviewed the man who said that he was told to leave and while packing up his things the victim’s brother arrived and told him to leave. The man said that he was holding a knife in his hand at the time. Cpl. Quint arrested the man and transported him to ACJ for criminal threatening.

Incident Type: ASSAULT Date: 8/13/2018 Town: CASTLE HILL Trooper: TR. CASAVANT Brief Synopsis: Tr. Casavant responded to a Castle Hill neighborhood when a resident reported being assaulted by someone at his neighbor’s house. Tr. Casavant learned through his investigation that the incident stemmed from cows that kept getting out of their fence and onto the man’s property. He confronted the owner of the cows over the issue and the man’s grandson took offense to how his grandfather was being spoken to. The grandson ultimately punched the man in the head. Tr. Casavant spoke with all parties and determined that nobody wanted to pursue criminal charges. They were all warned to stay away from each other and the cow owner agreed to make an attempt to keep his cows on his own property.

Incident Type: VIOLATION OF BAIL Date: 8/16/2018 Town: Mars Hill Trooper: Cpl. Quint Brief Synopsis: Cpl. Quint was on patrol in Mars Hill and observed a truck that failed to come to a complete top at a stop sign. Cpl. Quint turned to speak with the operator who had pulled into a private driveway. Cpl. Quint learned that the man was on bail conditions not to be at the address where he was parked. Cpl. Quint arrested the man and transported him to ACJ.

Incident Type: OAS Date: 8/17/2018 Town: T8 R5 Trooper: Tr. Adams Brief Synopsis: Tr Adams conducted a traffic stop on Rt. 11 in T8 R5. The 40 year old male told Tr Adams that he had been summonsed for a seatbelt violation and had not paid the fine. Tr Adams determined that the male was under suspension, Tr Adams summonsed the male for the violation.

Incident Type: OUI Date: 8/19/2018 Town: New Limerick Trooper: Tr. Bell/ Tr. Adams Brief Synopsis: Troopers Adams and Bell responded to a motor vehicle crash in New Limerick. As a result of the crash investigation, Tr. Bell arrested a 24 year old male for OUI.

Incident Type: ARREST - OTHER Date: 8/19/2018 Town: STOCKHOLM Trooper: TR. CURTIN Brief Synopsis: Tr. Curtin responded to a Stockholm residence when a woman reported a man had forced his way into her home. When Tr. Curtin arrived, he found that the man had left, but had attempted to steal a vehicle from another location and had stolen some items from the vehicle. The man had been creating a disturbance in the community for some time and was being watched by residents. They were able to point Tr. Curtin in the man’s direction when he arrived. Tr. Curtin attempted to arrest the man, but he resisted arrest and was ultimately taken into custody by Tr. Curtin after a significant struggle. The man was evaluated at a local hospital for minor injuries and then transported to jail. Among the charges, he will face are Criminal Trespass, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, Theft, and refusing to submit to arrest.
