Maine State Police continue to investigate how an infant sustained serious injuries inside his home in Vassalboro earlier this month.

According to police reports, 6-month-old Blaze Wood was taken to Maine General in Augusta on January 2 and then flown by the Lifeflight helicopter to Maine Medical Center the next day, where he continues to be treated.

Blaze was living with his father, 23-year-old Dylan Wood at a home on Pooler Drive in Vassalboro.

The Kennebec Sheriff’s Office initially began the investigation and asked State Police to assist.

Detectives have interviewed the father and continue to investigate how the baby was injured, as well as monitor the child’s condition.
