Danny Lowe from Yarmouth was hit as he stood by his pickup truck. He had been adjusting signs in the breakdown lane, said Stephen McCausland, Public Safety Spokesman. Lowe was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A 60-year-old man from Biddeford, Alphie Lambert, drifted into the breakdown lane, hitting Lowe and another Pike Industry truck, McCausland said. Lowe was able to crawl off the road after the impact that threw him into the travel lane, said McCausland.

Lambert was cited for the "move over" law. Troopers say he failed to comply with moving over for construction and emergency vehicles as well as wreckers in the breakdown lane with their emergency lights on.
