Maine Law Enforcement Shows Support for Dallas PD
Maine police are showing solidarity with law enforcement officers in Dallas by promoting an image of Texas with a blue stripe — the "thin blue line" — on social media.
The Maine State Police accompanied the image Friday with the comment on Facebook, "thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in Dallas."
Five officers were killed and seven injured by gunmen Thursday evening in Dallas. Officials said three gunmen were killed, and a fourth was in custody.
Across Maine, law enforcement agencies offered condolences.
The Bangor Police Department, known for its lighthearted social media presence, thanked local residents for supporting police and offered a hopeful note: "The good always wins. Trust me."
