The landlord has been charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of Derrick Thompson, 19, and Alivia Welch, 18.  Park’s victims rented the apartment a few months ago. Thompson’s mom also lived in the same apartment building with her younger son.

Before the shooting on Saturday, cops were called at the apartment building over a parking space dispute. Allegedly the two victims parked a vehicle in the building’s driveway due to the snowstorm. Minutes after the cops left, they were called again by Thompson’s mother who reported the shootings.

After talking with a negotiator for three hours, Park surrounded himself. Thompson’s mother was taken to the hospital and treated for a gunshot wound.

According to Park’s neighbors, the landlord, who also owns the Korean Yankee Landscape, has always had a short temper. According to his business website, Park is a Korean War orphan.

Derrick Thompson worked as an auto detailer at a car dealership and his girlfriend worked at a local coffee shop, both have attended the Thornton Academy in Saco.
