2016 really is the year for super-powered characters engaging in epic battles: Following Batman vs. Superman and Team Cap vs. Team Iron ManX-Men: Apocalypse will deliver the next super-fight, as Professor Xavier & Co. rally to stop a formidable new threat. Oscar Isaac’s titular villain won’t be riding solo, as he’ll have some help from four chosen mutant companions, including Michael Fassbender’s Magneto — featured above in a new video that briefly teases his arc.

And in the other corner we have Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique, whose role in Apocalypse is the subject of another short featurette:

Following in the footsteps of her mentors, Mystique has taken charge of her own group of mini-mutants, including Tye Sheridan’s Scott Summers / Cyclops, Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey and Alexandra Shipp’s Storm — interesting, since the trailers have shown her hanging out with Apocalypse’s crew.

Here’s the official synopsis for the upcoming sequel:

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27.
