Watch Mac Miller’s Live Performance of “We” With Cee-Lo Green
Mac Miller's "We" featuring Cee-Lo Green is one of the strongest cuts off his new album The Divine Feminine. And just like something out of a lucid dream, the lusty lyrics soar over sparse instrumentation in this new live performance of it shared today (Sept. 29) via Mac's TreeJ TV. Accompanied by a string quartet and a few brass instruments, the stripped-down performance shows off the Pittsburgh rapper's vocals as well as Cee-Lo's soulful runs. If this video doesn't make you want to go back and listen to album version on repeat, you might need to rethink your stance as a Mac fan.
Mac has been enjoying a windfall of accolades for his fourth studio LP. The Divine Feminine scored the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200, moving 48,000 copies in the first week of sales. The 10 love-themed tracks are much more R&B oriented than the tatted-up rapper has skewed to in his career and he's scoring major props for this new creative direction.
Mac preceded the release of the project with the singles "Dang" featuring 2016 XXL Freshman Anderson .Paak , "My Favorite Part" featuring his new boo Ariana Grande and "We" featuring Cee-Lo. Mac strategically withheld one of his favorite features on the album, the lavish Kendrick Lamar cut "God Is Fair, Sexy, Nasty" until after the LP dropped.
“It sounds like being in the ocean, relaxing, calm, floating," the 24-year-old said of his collab with K. Dot during an interview with Zane Lowe. "Just like there and comfortable in your thoughts, and that’s how the record ends, which is so awesome."
