The University of Southern Maine baseball team has been knocked out of the Little East Conference Tournament, losing to UMass-Boston 5-3 this afternoon. The Huskies lost their first two tourney games.

The Huskies had three runners picked off base and their pitching allowed two bases loaded walks in the loss to the #1 seeded UMass-Boston Beacons.

Sam Dexter and Sam Stauble each had two hits for USM.

Now the question is - will the NCAA give USM an at-large bid the the NCAA regionals?

Coach Ed Flaherty's Huskies are 29-13 and ranked #1 in the New England region. Add in recent trips to the Division III College World Series and this could be a close call.

USM will need to get one of 16 at-large spots handed out by a NCAA selection committee that meets on Sunday.
