Senior guard Sigi Koizar played 39 out of the possible 40 minutes to lead UMaine to a 60-55 win over Dartmouth Saturday afternoon. The victory gets the Bears back to a 5-5 record against out-of-conference competition.

The Black Bears expanded an 11 point halftime lead to 16 points halfway through the third quarter.

The Big Green kept chipping away at the deficit and with 1:22 to go Olivia Smith, former McCauley HS standout, hit a jumper to pull Dartmouth within two points at 54-52.

Down the stretch, Koizar hit a field goal and four free throws to help stave off the Big Green.

Koizar finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Freshman Laia Sole also scored 15 for the Bears.

Andi Norman scored 26 of Dartmouth's 55 points.

UMaine is now 5-5 with five more out-of-conference games left.

Dartmouth is now 3-6

In Hanover, NH, the UMaine men's team beat Dartmouth 73-68. It is the second straight win for the Black Bears who improve to 4-6. Dartmouth is 0-8.

Trailing by five points at halftime, Maine outscored the Big Green by 15 points in the second half.

Will Myers came off the bench to lead the Bears with 31 points. Austin Howard added 23.
