A little over a month after she was hospitalized for a reported suicide attempt, Kehlani delivers her new single, "24/7."

The DZL-produced song is a slightly upbeat ballad where she touches on depression and searching for "your light."

“It’s OK to not be OK,” she sings. “To dive in your pain / And it’s alright to not be alright / To search for your light.”

The 21-year-old singer goes on further and says that it's okay to stop pretending that everything is fine when, in reality, it's not. “I don’t know nobody who thinks that they’re somebody 24/7,” she sings as the song closes, “I don’t know nobody who smiles at everybody 24/7.”

Kehlani appeared in a photo with PARTYNEXTDOOR while she was still rumored to be dating NBA baller Kyrie Irving. Kehlani heightened the controversy when a photo of what appeared to be her recovery from hospital bed with an IV in her arm.

“Today I wanted to leave this earth,” she captioned the photo. “Being completely selfish for once. Never thought I’d get to such a low point. But.. Don’t believe the blogs you read .. No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person.”

While the are details of her suicide attempt are still speculative, the Bay Area singer has been criticized online by people like Chris Brown and fans.
