Actor Keegan-Michael Key is playing a down on his luck MC in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons. The Key and Peele co-creator will star as Jazzy James in a hip-hop homage to F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.

"The character I'm playing in this episode, his name is Jazzy James," Key says in the above clip. "He is a washed-up rapper. He sells candles, really high-end candles... I think now this is the pinnacle of my career. I'm done cause I just did The Simpsons, so I'm finished. So, I'm only gonna all of The Simpsons episodes now."

A lineup of hip-hop greats will also be joining Key in the cast. Snoop Dogg, RZA and Common are set to appear in the special episode.

“We wanted the Mt. Rushmore of rap, and we got it,” The Simpsons producer Dan Greaney told Entertainment Weekly about the casting. “They represent different moods and different aspects of the history of hip-hop.”

Jim Beanz, one of the producers for FOX’s drama Empire, created some original songs for the episode. The "Great Phatsby" will tell the story of a friendship between Mr. Burns and a mysterious hip-hop mogul named Jay G.

“It’s a tale of greed, excess, betrayal, revenge and ruthlessness,” The Simpsons executive producer Matt Selman told EW. “And there’s a hilarious goose in it. The goose is really funny.”

“The Great Phatsby” is scheduled to premiere on Jan. 15 and will be The Simpsons' first hour-long episode in 28 seasons on the air.
