Kanye West Seeks Psychiatrist in New York

Kanye West is in New York, as many on hand at Trump Tower could confirm, taking meetings with the President-elect, but as TMZ reports, he is also assembling a medical team as he recovers from his recent hospitalization. Sources tell the celebrity site that West flew to Manhattan to interview psychiatrists, one of which will become his go-to therapist when he's in town. The psychiatrist will join Kanye's growing medical team.

There was a spike in concern over Kanye's well-being after it was reported last month that the rapper had been hospitalized for exhaustion. He cancelled the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo tour and one report links the health scare to Kanye's medication and the possibility that he missed taking his required dosage. In the time since his release from the hospital, Ye has taken it easy, that is, until flying out to New York. TMZ reports that the medical professionals close to him are keeping a close eye on West, ensuring his medication is consistent.

To let Rick Ross tell it, the hospitalization and health scare is all part of Kanye's plan, the rapper saying recently, “My homie a genius. For everybody who thought he was wigging out, he played y’all niggas."

Regardless of the credibility to Ross's claims, it is good to see Kanye not only traveling but prioritizing his health as well. Where Kanye goes from here, personally or musically, is anybody's guess, though he will do it with a new blond look.
