Raccoons will forage just about anywhere and den just about anywhere, so a fallen log is a fairly common choice of abode or area to search for food.

In this case, the log, the dried branches and the ring-tailed critter seem the same color in the bright sunlight. But the distinctive face gives the raccoon away.
