Since last fall, we at the Townsquare radio stations in Presque Isle have featured northern Maine and Western New Brunswick landscape photographers from the Just Looking Around Facebook group.

Just Looking Around founder Lovena West says a Meet & Greet Picnic is scheduled for Saturday, August 20th, at 11:00 am at Mantle Lake in Presque Isle.

West says if you are a member of this site, active member or not, you're welcome to come out. It will be a pot luck and a grill will be provided. West says there will be a head count in August so they know how many to plan for. She says members can bring their families and enjoy a meal, door prizes, as well as conversation with fellow photographers and lovers of the natural world.

"Mantle Lake Park has lots of playground equipment, also a pond with ducks to feed, tennis courts, walking trails and bathrooms. We will be under a covered pavilion, so come rain or shine, it will go on. There are picnic tables in the pavilion.and some along the water, so if you have camp chairs feel free to bring them also.  Come and join us and meet the person behind the lens."

The group started small, but now is approaching 6,000 members. Though the major focus is still northern Maine and Western New Brunswick, photographers from all over the world also participate.
