The Southeast RCMP is investigating a hit-and-run Monday morning near Moncton that left a man seriously injured.

Police responded to a report that a man had been hit by a vehicle in Steeves Mountain at approximately 7 a.m. A 46-year-old man had been jogging along the Homestead Road when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle travelling towards Moncton, according to Corporal Clay Wortman.

A passerby found the man injured and semi-conscious along the shoulder of the roadway. The man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Police said the victim’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
